Sunday wasn’t so “Super” for Oklahoma City

This Super Bowl Sunday at TD Garden, the Boston Celtics put an end to the Oklahoma City Thunder’s impressive seven-game winning streak, finishing with a close 134-129.

This was the Thunder’s first loss since the Lakers dominated 138-128 in an overtime game on Jan 17th. (Associated Press)

As of right now, the Celtics have won four consecutive games – but they could have been riding out an astounding 10-game winning streak if not for one loss to the Golden State Warriors along the way

But the fact remains – they’ve won 9 games out of ten.

For Boston, Kyrie Irving contributed a generous 30 points to the game while Marcus Morris added 19 points, Marcus Smart added 18, Al Horford added 17 and Daniel Theis added 14.

On the other hand, Oklahoma’s Paul George contributed 37 points with Russell Westbrook adding 22 points – making that his 19th triple-double this season.

Steven Adams and Dennis Schroder each gave 16 points and Jerami Grant added 15. (Associated Press)

Sadly, this wasn’t enough for Oklahoma to steal the game. Better luck next time.

Boston’s next game will be vs. the Cleveland Cavaliers Tuesday night.

Let’s see if they’re onto another wild winning streak.
