A Not-So-Rookie Move: Donovan Mitchell Steals Home Court Advantage

May 3, 2018

Apparently Donovan Mitchell had a plan with the Utah Jazz to guard Houston Rockets MVP James Harden and the team in Game 2 of their Western Conference semifinal series.

This was a plan that surely didn’t fail the Jazz as they got away with a late win of 116-108.

The Rockets were in the lead by 2 points with 8:03 remaining in the fourth, but failed to keep up their winning streak – mishandling the ball and missing many seemingly easy shots.

Utah took over the Rockets’ good streak; with “rookie” Mitchell ending with an impressive 17 points and 11 assists. Perhaps the most impressive part of Game 2 was Utah going 15 for 32 from three and Houston shooting 10 for 37.

“Everybody stepped up and played well. I’m so proud of those guys”, said Mitchell.

In the upcoming Games 3 and 4 this Friday and Sunday night, the Jazz have an opportunity to completely throw the Rockets off their game with a vicious series finish. We can’t wait to see what goes down!
